Toy Story 3, at least in it’s present theatrical form, is pretty much finished. Pixar pulled out all the stops with the third tale, as well as a few heart-strings as we said goodbye to Woody, Buzz and the gang.
Except it seems that Disney and Pixar have one more short Toy Story to tell, as they’ve got a Halloween special coming up starring the sentient action figures and dolls.
Taking a page out of the Dreamworks book for a change, the special finds the gang embarking on a road trip, but then things take a turn for the sinister when they stop at a motel and one of plastic members of the ttroop goes missing. Woody, Buzz and the others must team up to find their missing comrade, or suffer a similar fate…
It could be an odd fit for the regular content that Pixar deals with, but then again, this could work towards their favour. Halloween specials have usually been great little ways to extend a franchise, even if only for a few more weeks, as Monsters vs Aliens and Shrek have discovered, and hopefully, this could be a sign that Pixar is looking to extend their franchises.
Heck, I’d love to see at least a Christmas special starring the Incredibles, if possible, since the sequel appears to be non-existent.

My mind boggles at the lack of more Incredibles. I simply do not understand it.
