Are you ready for ANOTHER Sherlock Holmes film?

With a hit BBC show, two films starring Iron Man, an American imitation with Lucy Liu that is cashing in on the popularity of said BBC version and most likely an upcoming cartoon series, it seems that the world has not yet had enough of Sherlock Holmes.

That’s what Paramount is considering, as they’re looking to not only put their own stamp on the public domain character, but to do so on the younger version that appeared way back in 1985, and have grabbed Chris Columbus to help produce it.Columbus, who actually wrote the script for the original Barry Levinson directed Young Sherlock Holmes, will be helping to guide a reboot of the younger sleuth.

There’s no script in place yet, but Paramount has tapped Evan “Wanted 2” Spiliotopoulos to scribe it. The original film was executive produced by Steven Spielberg, and contained many of his trademarks in the end result, as well as being a rather intense film aimed at kids that incorporated various practical and special effects.

And it might actually be the perfect time for such a revival. With teen hero films proving to be a real money-maker, it might just be elementary to cash in on the love for that genre and the super-sleuth.

  1. I actually like the fake American one with Lucy Liu. Having said that, I am yet to see the BBC series, I’m sure it’s good tho. According to everybody

I’ve seen a few episodes of that one, and while it’s ok, it’s clearly taking advantage of the positive press that the BBC version has generated.

Besides, the BBC Sherlock makes Elementary look like a Laurel and Hardy gag in comparison.

Yeah, BBC’s Sherlock is easily one of the best TV shows of the last decade. And the fact that each “episode” is 90 mins long with big budget productions makes it feel like you’re watching a movie each time.
