CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR set pics/video show first look at Crossbones, Falcon and more!

Last time I checked, Captain America: Civil War had a cast that was just a Hulk and a thunder god short of an Avengers film. And despite the “hero vs. hero” premise of the movie (that’s Captain America facing off against Iron Man, in case you didn’t know), that cast is not all good guys. We already know that Daniel Bruhl will be playing the villainous Baron Zemo, but there’s one other bad guy that may have a very lethal role to play: Frank Grillo’s Brock Rumlow. Or as he is better known: Crossbones.

And now we’re finally getting to see that alter ego in full costumed action as JustJared has released a series of set pics over the weekend (here, here and here) from the film’s shoot in Atlanta, Georgia, showing off Crossbone’s actual movie look, complete with his trademark skull mask.

That looks really awesome, in a real-world mercenary meets comic book character kind of way. The weird pneumatic gauntlets are new touch though, and I’m not actually sure of their purpose (especially since it would make the handling of Crossbones signature assault rifles a bit difficult). The last time we saw Rumlow in Captain America: WInter Soldier, Falcon – with the help of a falling helicarrier – had just dropped a building on him, so maybe they tie into his injuries somehow.

And speaking of Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, the set pics also show him in proper face-kicking action, in his really good-looking new costume. And I don’t mean to stir the rumour pot – especially in the light of recent claims about a death in the movie – but that new Falcon suit sure has a lot of red, white and blue in it, if you know what I mean. There’s also a set video that’s been uploaded to Instagram, showing Falcon supposedly swooping in (pre-CGI) and attacking some unknown assailant.

The rest of the pics and video, show off Chris Evan’s Captain America in his new slightly tweaked costume (with a very damaged shield?) in action alongside Scarlett Johannson’s biker babe Black Widow in an African market set, which many believe is actually supposed to be Wakanda, the Marvel comic book universe African nation from which the vibranium used to create Cap’s shield comes from, as well as the homeland of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, who is also set to debut in this movie.

Just Jared have uploaded more set pics than you can shake thawed out super soldier at, so this is most certainly not all of them. You can check the rest out at the links above. Captain America: Civil War also star Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13 and William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. It is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.

“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
