Tom Holland’s debut as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War was a huge success, despite the fact that he really was only there for two scenes. But next year he gets to lead his own film with a huge cast – no seriously, this cast just doesn’t want to stop growing! – in Spider-Man: Homecoming. That movie is busy shooting right now, and thanks to the folks over at Looper we have our first look at Holland in costume for this film.

According to reports, this scene apparently sees Holland’s Peter Parker and his classmates on a field trip to Washington DC when something goes wrong prompting the young hero to break out his mask and get to web-slinging. The scene will assumedly be some kind of highway chase – a first for any of the Spider-Man films – which will see Spidey jump onto some kind of construction truck. And I think it’s safe to assume that the final movie will see Spidey bounce around without the need of a blue trampoline and a couple of cables.

One thing to note is that Holland’s costume has not changed since we last saw it in Civil War, but if that movie’s post-credits scenes hints are to be believed, there’s a lot of hidden Tony Stark tech to be found on it. You can check out all the set pics over on Looper.

Spider-Man: Homecoming was directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car) and also stars Michael Keaton as the film’s main villain – rumoured to be the Vulture – Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Along with those known roles you also have *DEEP BREATH* Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Kenneth Choi, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall Green, Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., J.J. Totah, Abraham Attah, Michael Mando and Bokeem Woodbine. *GASP* It is scheduled for release on July 7, 2017.

Yes. Why do they keep on making him a teen? Can’t we get a story of Spiderman the 35 year old who is jaded from battling Venom all day and give him a new challenge. Spidey’s origin story has been run all the way through in my opinion. If I see Uncle Ben die one more time I am going to start a petition in America and ask them to arrest the next director that kills him! Not all Batman movies start with a young Bruce Wayne seeing his parents die, we all know they died and the story just kicks on from there.

Yep. Uncle Ben has had it rough. Shall we start a online petition to ” free the Ben ” ?

I’m too scared the English might hold a referendum on it and blow up Big Ben instead as clearly they don’t like to know much about shit they have to vote on!

Why don’t we make him 35??? Really??? Have you ever read the comics? He’s a teenager plain and simple. Always has always will. Take it up with Stan Lee.

I will go do that then. Surely we can’t keep on retelling just his start to being a hero and then in 5 years time reboot and tell the exact same story. Or are we not aloud to go past what the comics have in them?
