We’ve already seen Chris “Captain America” Evans go through one famous physical transformation on-screen, but it looks like he’s about to have another. Deadline reports that the Marvel-ous actor is in talks to star in a feature film adaptation of Jekyll, the 2007 BBC mini-series of the same name.

Penned by Sherlock and Doctor Who‘s Steven Moffat, Jekyll puts a new spin on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic 19th century tale “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”, about the titular doctor who transforms into the monstrous Edward Hyde after ingesting a serum he had concocted. The original tale has been adapted countless times in the 130 years since it was first published, with most of them retaining the theme of the good natured Jekykl battling his evil alter ego for control of his body and soul.

Steven Moffat’s Jekyll played out as a sequel to Stevenson’s original, focusing on Tom Jackman, a modern day descendant of the original Dr Jekyll, who discovers he has inherited his predecessor’s genetic malady. This time around “Jekyll” and Hyde share their body through a mutual understanding, but with one not remembering the actions of the other. Here’s the synopsis:

It’s 2007 and there’s a new Dr Jekyll, with an old problem: Mr Hyde. But they have a deal – a body share – and an impossible life is somehow lived.

What Hyde doesn’t know, however, is that Jackman is married, and there’s a wife and two children he’ll do anything to protect from his dark side. With all the resources of modern technology, and the best surveillance hardware, he’s determined to keep his dark side in line.

He’s done a deal with his own devil. But neither of them know that an ancient organisation with limitless wealth and power is monitoring their every move, and a plan over a century in the making is coming to fruition. The return of Dr Jekyll is no accident…

Evan is set to play the lead role Tom Jackman in this new feature film version, which is being produced by Ellen DeGeneres (yes, that Ellen DeGeneres) and Jeff Kleeman are producing through their A Very Good Production. The script is being written by the duo of Anthony Bagarozzi & Charles Mondry, who are also working on Netflix’s Death Note adaptation and also co-wrote The Nice Guys with Shane Black.
