I’m dreading writing my review for Cloud Atlas when it releases later this year. I have a feeling that irrespective of what my final opinions on the film will be, it will probably take only two paragraphs before I start running out of synonyms for “epic”. Don’t be surprised if I just start making words up. That just seems like the grafellious thing to do.
Tom Twyker and the Wachowski siblings have certainly set themselves an ambitious task with this generations spanning… well, epic, and it’s only fair that this spectacle gets the biggest stage possible.
So just it like it did with the Wachowski’s Matrix trilogy and Speed Racer, Warner Bros has announced that it will be releasing Cloud Atlas on the larger than life IMAX format as well. You may now all join me for a good cry as we once again lament the loss of IMAX to our shores.
Along with the news of the big screen format, the first TV spot the movie has been released on it’s official Facebook page, along with 7 new (ahem) epic banners showing off some of the characters that will occupy this sprawling world. It’s only 30 seconds long, so you really cannot get a sense of the film’s massive soul-shifting story (for that you need that massive gargantuan (screw it!) epic 6 minute trailer released in July) but we do get a nice look at a couple new scenes:
Synopis:
