Unlike our and girls in blue who can barely squeeze into their uniforms before assembling a small army of officers to pepper-spray a hobo and…No wait, that pretty much describes all cops at any given time all acorss the globe. Ahem, starting over, cops are here to serve, protect and abuse the authority that their badge carries. So what happens when you give two average Joes the power to dispense Dredd style law and order? This kind of movie.
It’s the ultimate buddy cop movie except for one thing: they’re not cops. When two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party, they become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly-minted “heroes” get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.
Damon Wayans Jr? I sense a brand new Wayans invasion on the horizon. Looks like a couple of easy laughs, with a lesson or two to be learnt along the way about the fat blue line. Let’s Be Cops will be checking Ben Affleck’s trailer for a code 10-07 on August 13, and stars Damon Wayans Jr., Jake Johnson, Rob Riggle, Nina Dobrev, James D’Arcy and Andy Garcia.
