Usually when the words “farting” appears frequently on all the major movie news publications, it’s because Adam Sandler has released a new movie and everybody’s wondering who they cheesed off in a previous life to deserve this fate. But when flatulence became the talk of the town during the Sundance Film Festival this year, it actually came from a much stranger, unexpected and way more charming place.

Swiss Army Man is the strange and flatulence-filled movie from co-writers/directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, which sees a marooned Paul Dano trying to escape his desert island fate by using the only thing at hand – a washed up, rotting corpse and its gassy emissions. The corpse, named Manny, is played by none other than Daniel Radcliffe, who goes from being The Boy Who Lived to the The Man Who Died And Had His Colon Used Like A Motorboat Engine. And based on festival farts buzz  it’s apparently a must-see.

Check it all out below.

Hank (Paul Dano) is stranded on a deserted island, having given up all hope of ever making it home again.  But one day everything changes when a corpse named Manny (Daniel Radcliffe) washes up on shore; the two become fast friends, and ultimately go on an epic adventure that will bring Hank back to the woman of his dreams.

Swiss Army Man creates a world like no other—a place of pure fantastical imagination, brimming with magical realism yet featuring two characters whose dreams and fears are entirely relatable. Dano and Radcliffe both fully commit to their directors’ audacious vision, and their work is exceptional, finding the perfect balance of humor and heart that drives the whole film.  A celebration of all the wonders cinema has to offer, Swiss Army Man is ultimately all the more remarkable for using its dazzling originality to tell a universal story of human complexity and connection.

I think I’ll pass on seeing this one in 4D, thank you very much!

Swiss Army Man is scheduled for release in the US on June 17, 2016.
