STX Entertainment bring us the exciting new thriller – Secret In Their Eyes. The movie stars Julia Roberts and Chiwetel Ejiofor as FBI partners, and Nicole Kidman as their supervisor. The trio are torn apart when they discover that Jess’s (Roberts) teenage daughter has been brutally and inexplicably murdered. Thirteen years later, Ray (Ejiofor) returns to Los Angeles after uncovering a new lead that he feels can permanently resolve the case.
That sure is some great acting talent right there and that talent is complimented behind the camera as the film was written and directed with Billy Ray, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter behind Captain Phillips and The Hunger Games. This will be his third time directing, and his suspenseful revenge thriller looks to provide the cast with some fantastic material to strut their stuff with.
Roberts has taken on some challenging roles before like Closer, Erin Brockovich and The Pelican Brief and had the following to say about the scene in which her character, Jess, finds out about her child.
It was definitely not a day I looked forward to. You can’t prepare for that in the way you do other scenes
