The devil is back in church in this first teaser trailer for Daredevil season 3

“Darkness only responds to darkness.” Thus reads the tagline for the upcoming third season of Marvel’s Daredevil, and it looks like everybody’s favourite blind vigilante is taking that very literally based on the first teaser trailer released last night.

Last we saw Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock was at the tail end of The Defenders as he woke up in a strange bed being tended to by nuns after coming down with an acute case of having a building dropped on him. Prior to that, he had been running around in his high-tech armoured red super suit fighting those pesky Hand ninjas, but it appears that Daredevil is going back in black for the upcoming season as he sports his old year one duds once more.

Exactly what brings on the wardrobe change is uncertain, though early rumours claim that Vincent D’Onofrio’s returning baddie Wilson Fisk will try to discredit the Man With No Fear with a fake Daredevil running amok in Hell’s Kitchen. Whatever it is, it will be driving Murdock to the Catholic confessional and he has some seriously strong words to say.

“I would rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock”. Now there’s an instantly iconic line if I ever heard one. And there will most definitely be a lot of opportunities for the devil’s death as it’s not just “The Kingpin” that he’ll be contending with. [POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT] Thanks to what may have been an errant #Bullseye hashtag on a social media post by a Hollywood personal trainer (since deleted), it has now been all but officially confirmed that Wilson Bethel is indeed playing the assassin with the unerring aim.

Early reports of Bethel’s casting last year had him pegged as playing an FBI Agent, but they may either have just been subterfuge on Marvel’s part or the Bullseye reveal is supposed to be a plot twist. In the comics, the psychopathic Bullseye is easily Daredevil’s most iconic foe, which fans have been calling for him since Day 1. Looks we’re getting our wishes answered.

Daredevil season 3 doesn’t have an official release date yet, but it is expected to premiere on Netflix either very late 2018 or early 2019.

Something the apparent racist in me can be happy about since I won’t be watching the Witcher series anymore.

Yeah I demand we remake Black Panther with an Asian character as the lead. Then watch the SJW’s fight to the death.

You know its just a series. it’s not real or real life. When we get upset by SJW’s we let them win. Pay the buggers no mind, they are not worth your headspace

While you bring up a good point, the issues stem from the SJW’s that affect real life, and force that ideology everywhere

            Yes, this, totally this.
I mean, bloody hell, in Canada it’s actually illegal to refer to someone by the incorrect pronoun. How moronic is that?!

That’s not true; it’s a grave misunderstanding of bill C-16, which covers anti-discrimination, hate speech, and hate crime. If you mistakenly call somebody by the wrong pronoun, you will not be sent to jail. Accidental or occasional use of the wrong pronouns would not be sufficiently grave or frequent to be considered harassment under the law.. If, however, you repeatedly use the wrong one after being asked not to, you could possibly face consequences for harassment should a charge be laid, which would be their right under the new law.

If you mis-gender somebody and they politely ask you to not, and you repeatedly and constantly harangue them, you are an asshole.

Which means it’s open to being abused by the asshole SJW’s. If anything, they have shown themselves to be a crowd that overreacts to just about everything.

There was an incident in a UK school this year, when a teacher, while speaking to group, said, “well done, girls.” One of the group happened to be trans. Even though the teacher very quickly apologised for the slip up, he was still subsequently fired.

All legal processes are open to being abused by assholes regardless of their socio-ideological positions.

That case itself is curious. while I think in the Uk there’s an over-promotion with young children regarding transgender issues, which can be confusing for very young children. Human physiology and psychology is very confusing. With the Joshua Sutcliffe case (the math teacher in your example), there’s more to the story. Sutcliffe is not just a teacher, but also an evangelical priest who has shown zero tolerance for transgender rights and said as much in his letters to the school; even in his interviews on TV regarding the issue, he constantly and continually misgendered. The school itself did a thorough investigation and found him to be in contravention of their own codes of conduct – he wasn;t just fired on a whim.

The issue here is not just an isolated incident, as per the example I pointed out.

The SJW ideology is starting to have an effect on many areas of study, in places where it straight up doesn’t belong. I’ve JUST read this article:

Signs of the times is run by the Quantum Future Group, the pseudo-religious movement created by Arkadiusz Jadczyk and Laura Knight Jadczyk. Itis filled to the brim with conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, stuff about the JFK assassination, 9/11 mumbo jumbo, and some pretty dangerous health information. I would not consider it a credible news source in the slightest.

To discredit this article based on that is rather close-minded.
After all, this particular article is written by someone who was directly involved in the whole fiasco.

I’ve read the paper itself, and it comes to the conclusion that there are “no gender difference on average,” so if the paper itself is being sunk, then it’s for reasons that are possibly micro-politic to PSU and not because of some overarching socio-progressive move to…confirm progressive beliefs that there aren’t really any gender differences. anybody trying to sink legitimate scientific research of any sort isn’t doing anybody any favours.

Which makes the squashing of its publication all the worse. A few SJW’s, without even properly reading the paper, decided to stop it from being distributed.
That’s just plain wrong, no matter what angle you look at it from. How can one argue a point or against a point without even knowing WHAT that point is?

Sadly if the people offering the ‘evidence’ are known to be against said topic, it’s quite dangerous to use them as a source of information. You don’t ask Nazis whether the holocast took place now do we?

While I do agree, it doesn’t make it any less irritating.
I would honestly have no issue if they decided to say, make Dandelion a minority character. But not Ciri.

The Ciri thing is also curious. The show is being based on the books and not the games (so many gamers are going to take umbrage with MANY portrayals, as the games took liberties with many characters). The casting call, in the UK, was for BAME actors; which is a standard call for Black, African and Minority ethnic. Polish people would, as an example, be considered a Minority ethnic in the UK, as would serbians, albanians, and just about most other lilly-white europeans. It doesnt mean that Ciri will be black, though it could. The showwriter herself cleared up a lot of it: https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/f52eeced5f7ed99d388bddee7d6ef999181a12d39f359fbb465a72fe5a3d1b5a.png

Context. Nice. Still, as long as the best actress for the job is chosen, I’m good.

Or even a lesser known Pole?

This makes a lot more sense.
After all, Sapkowski’s work was all about the effects of treating minorities poorly. The first time I read The Last Wish and saw how he portrayed elves and dwarves, I was tingling with glee. It was bloody fantastic.

For his sake, I hope they pay him better than CDPR ever did. He got a stipend for their use of his world, never realising just how big it was going to get.

That was his own foolishness, because he thought the games would never take off so he opted for a once-off payment.

That little rant was fun and all but a simple “Ciri will be white but a white minority” would have been fine.

Then again I suppose she got pissed at all the people complaining.

I just feel really sorry for whoever they do cast, listen I’m super not happy about the casting call and there will definitively be people that will ‘cross the line’ and that poor actress is gonna be on the receiving end of some really nasty comments about her appearance, never mind if she does a good job playing the roll.

That said i can always just go reread the books and/or play thru the games if i really want to xD

I don’t have to watch but I think its gonna get really nasty and is gonna backfire spectacularly which is just sad for everyone

The problem is that if this is done from a SJW perspective, that sets a stupid precedent. If this was done from a list of prospective actresses, and she won out because she was the best irrespective of colour, then yes, that is awesome

Yeah, shame, the poor actress who gets the role, if she doesn’t fit the look that many want, is going to get a lot of hate. Won’t be her fault.

I mean, that poor oke who played Jar Jar Binks many years back, he nearly committed suicide due to all the hate.

There are many people in this world that need to learn that it’s okay to disagree with someone or something. And in disagreeing with you, doesn’t mean you need to eradicate it from the face of the planet or from everyone’s minds.
