DStv Compact subscribers now also have access to Showmax for real cheap

Available immediately, DStv Compact package owners can now add Showmax to their bouquet for R49 instead of the normal price of R99. This will give subscribers access to the streaming platform’s full library of over 1 000 individual TV and movie titles and 30 000 TV series episodes, which they can stream via an internet-connected DStv Explora decoder, the DStv Now website, the DStv Now app on Android and iOS mobile devices, and supported smart TVs. Speaking about why Showmax has been made available to DSTV Compact subscribers at a reduced price, Calvo Mawela, CEO of MultiChoice South Africa, indicated that “More and more customers are telling us they love to binge-watch box sets on DStv Catch Up and Showmax. It’s the way the world is moving and that’s why we’re offering all our Compact Plus and Compact customers Showmax at a big discount, so they can enjoy this exceptional experience.”

So what do you need to do to access Showmax, and be able to check out exclusive shows like Mr. Robot, Taboo, The Young Pope, Tali’s Wedding Diary, and Younger? Well, if you’re already a DStv Compact subscriber but have not yet taken the plunge for Showmax, then just follow the simple instructions below:

1. Go to www.showmax.com.
2. Sign up to Showmax with your email address.
3. Create a password.
4. Choose “DStv add to account” as your payment method.
5. Choose “DStv add to account” to add Showmax to your DStv bill.
6. Enter your South African ID number.
7. Confirm your mobile phone number. A one-time pin (OTP) will be SMSed to this number to verify your account.

If you’ve already subscribed to Showmax separately before now, and want to take advantage of the DStv discount, then simply do the following:

1. Go to www.showmax.com and sign in.
2. Go to Manage Account and click on Manage Subscription.
3. Select “DStv add to account” as your payment method.
4. Enter your South African ID number.
5. Confirm your mobile phone number. A one-time pin (OTP) will be SMSed to this number to verify your account.
6. Enter the OTP and accept the T&Cs. Your entire family can start watching Showmax on up to 5 devices.
