Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson talks Fast 6 and Fast 7 shooting schedule

Can you SMELLLLLLALALALALAL what the Rock is cooking?! Well, it’s definitely not back to back shootings of Fast 6 and Fast 7, that’s what.

Despite previous claims to the contrary, the next two installments in the popular muscle-cars and muscle-heads franchise will not be filmed all in one go, as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson confirmed with MTV.

“I don’t think we’re going to shoot them back-to-back. We were going to try that because it wouldn’t make sense to have the same crew and have everybody there in one place, but I think we’re dealing with some weather issues, so from what I know we’re going to shoot ‘Fast 6‘ first and then worry about ‘Fast 7‘ a little later.

We’re going to be in the U.K., we’re going to be in Germany, from what I know. That’s the early talks. And we’re going to start shooting in May.”

For those of you that haven’t crawled out of your basements in ages, Europe is currently experiencing a cold front worthy of a Roland Emmerich disaster film. And last time I checked, it’s very hard to be all mean and intimidating when your People’s Eyebrow is frozen in place. Also, bald heads in winter? Not pleasant.

The Fast and Furious films have always been a guilty pleasure of mine (well except 2 Fast 2 Furious, there’s not a damn thing pleasurable about that turd), and ever since Fast Five – which is when Mr Johnson first sweated on joined the cast as badass goatee sporting Marshall Luke Hobbs – reignited the flagging franchise with it’s blend of  high testosterone action and clever Oceans’ Eleven styled heist mechanics, I have really been looking forward to the sequels even more than ever.

Fellow bald badass Vin Diesel and merely-mildy-disgruntled-ass Paul Walker have been confirmed to be returning as leads Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Connor, while Justin Lin will once again be in the director’s chair. Rumours have also floated about that another bald-headed one-man wrecking machine, Jason Statham, may also be making an appearance.

The film is currently set for release on May 24th 2013, but that may change in the face of recent developments.

Europe. Ha! They should hop on the Cape Town Bandwagon. Unless the producers feel that’s a bit too similiar to Rio
