Elektra officially cast in season 2 of DAREDEVIL

Elodie Yung

When you think about it, Matt Murdock is quite a catch. Even though he most likely has no soul due to his decision to be an avocado at law, he’s the kind of guy who has no problem finding a partner for a night out.

But in the comics, there’s only one true love for Murdock AKA Daredevil. And that’s one deadly assassin by the name of Elektra Natchios. And in a second season of the acclaimed TV series that’ll feature more of Marvel’s street-level heroes, things will be getting out of Hand when the Man Without Fear crosses paths with Elektra. A character we can now officially put a name to as Elodie “GI Joe Retaliation” Yung has been cast as Elektra, with executive producer Jeph Loeb commenting on the casting:

Daredevil s2

Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.

There’s a great love story right there. Something that honestly, will be more interesting than Matt’s brief flirtation with his 24/7 medic from the first season, who was played by Rosario Dawson. It’s also a great nod back to the first season, which had plenty of Hand references already.

Combined with the appearance of Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and I’ve got a good feeling about season 2 so far, which will kick off in 2016.

I think we are going to see a love square. Matt, Karen, Night Nurse and Elektra. Nick has already started writing the fan fic.

Well, it’s Netflix, so I don’t know if you’re ever going to see it on traditional TV. At least not for a very long time. And watching Netflix in SA is not exactly illegal.

Plenty Netflix shows on current TV. Looks at Orange is the New Black S3 starting tonight. Netflix is not officially in SA yet so……

Well then you got me there (don’t watch much conventional TV so didn’t know it was that up to date).

As for Netflix in SA, they’ve previously stated that they don’t mind people using VPN’s to access their content in places they haven’t officially launched yet, as long as you still pay their subscription fees. Which I do.

Orange is the New Black was licensed to SA tv before Netflix had any plans to launch in SA. When they do eventually launch they won’t have the right to have that show on Netflix SA. At least until the license expires. So they might not want to sell Daredevil and other Netflix shows to local tv.
