Elijah Wood is THE LATE BLOOMER

I swear, Elijah Wood might be a highlander. The man seems to never age, and after a period of inactivity, he’s been hitting small and large screens with a vengeance lately.

He’ll be reprising his iconic role of Frodo Baggins for one of the upcoming The Hobbit films, and after that, it looks like he’s going to be going through puberty, in The Late Bloomer.

A new indie comedy film, The Late Bloomer is based on the memoir “Man Made: A Memoir of My Body” by Ken Baker, and has been received a script fromJoe Nussbaum, Paul Kaplan & Mark Torgove. Wilfred and The Office director Randall Einhorn will be helming the project, with Wood in the lead role.

Based on a true story, the book told the tale of one man, who before hitting 30, found out that a medical condition had kept him from fully experiencing puberty. With that hurdle cured and removed, he then underwent the entire hormonal process within a few short weeks.

“‘The Late Bloomer’ is the type of wonderful heartfelt comedy that I like to engage in. Puberty can be difficult at best and has the potential to be extremely comedic in normal circumstances,” said Einhorn.

This true story is anything but a normal circumstance. That truth is a new twist on something we all know well and Elijah is just perfect to play the lead role. It is clear to me that Dignity gets my vision for ‘The Late Bloomer’ and I am delighted to be working with Maggie and her team.

In addition to his current workload, Wood can also be seen in the upcoming remake of Maniac, early next year. And that thing with the short people who experienced puberty on their feet.

Can I just say how much I dislike Elijah Wood? He’s an awful, one note actor and I find him alternately creepy and annoying. He seems to think that growing facial hair will afford him some gravitas or semblance of maturity but he’s not fucking fooling me.

He’s rubbish and, for the most part, he brings little to nothing to any film he is in. He
is the thespian equivalent of cheese puffs and I think it high time he was recognised as such
