Extras-final

Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

Extras-bullet-points-micro3I’ve honestly got no idea what kind of movie Pitch Perfect even is, beyond something about music. What i do know though, is that a sequel is on the way and that Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will be back as Becca and Fat Amy.

That film is scheduled for May 15, 2015. Now is the part where I start singing about high schools?

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 Besides the fact that the original Jurassic Park films featured a rock star chaos theorist, there were several other loop holes in the first film that stretched believability all the way up to the Triassic era. Chriss Pratt, who’ll be in the fourth film, reckons that the scientists in charge will be making even more stuff-ups as he dropped some film and character details:

“What I liked about it is that it answers the question of, ‘Why would they do that?'” says when asked what drew him to the project. “How do you suspend disbelief to be like, ‘Oh, yes! Let’s make this mistake again!

We haven’t learned our lesson about dinosaurs. We should definitely live with them and see how that works out!” After three tries, they answer the question really well through the script. Colin did a great job of writing it and justifying it.

Kind of, in his own way, having fun with that so that anybody who goes in with that question will be really amused the way I was.”

Pratt also talked briefly about his character, comparing him to Sam Neill’s Dr. Alan Grant and Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Ian Malcolm.

“He’s got a little of both [characters],” Pratt explains. “He’s got a little bit of the Goldblum cynicism, but also the Sam Neill excitement at the wonder and the biology of it all.”

Extras-bullet-points-micro3Gee Robert Redford who happens to star in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we could have really used a dozen or so of those SHIELD helicarriers when New York was busy being turned into an alien bitch-slap zone.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a big risk for the Disney owned company. It’s a non traditional superhero film, with a cast of characters that few folks are familiar with. Still, Disney has faith in this ragtag group of space vigilantes, and they’ve even begun prepping for a sequel which will hit cinemas in 2016.

At about the same time that Batman vs Superman rocks up. Yikes.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3Move over Sly Stallone and co, because the Expendabelles are coming! Eventually. Work is still very much in the pre-production stage on that movie, but it does have a director now.Robert Luketic will helm that movie, which now has a full-on summary as well:

When America’s Navy SEALs are wiped out trying to penetrate the island lair of a deadly despot who has captured one of the world’s top nuclear scientists, it becomes clear that there is no such thing as the right man for the job and that this is a mission so impossible that only women can handle it.

The only way in: some of the world’s deadliest female operatives must pose as high-class call-girls shipped in by private plane to satisfy a dictator–and instead save the scientist and the day.

Classy.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3According to this international poster for Noah, Ray Winstone may have just woken up a gigantic sleeping Russell Crowe.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3George Clooney. He’s a great actor, a talented director and according to Matt Damon, one hell of a prankster.

  1. I think Robert Redford would have made an awesome Captain America when he was younger.
