Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

We kick off today with something pretty special. Earlier this year, at the Emerald City Comic-Con, a veritable who’s-who of voice actors gathered on stage to do a reading of the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It was amazing, it was funny and now it’s finally available on-line.

And in case you were wondering who is who, since you’ve probably never seen these people’s faces before in your life, here’s the nice list that Slashfilm prepared:

Billy West (Crank Yankers, Ren & Stimpy, Futurama), Tara Strong (Rugrats, Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony), Maurice LaMarche (Inspector Gadget, Transformers, Futurama), John DiMaggio (Futurama, Adventure Time, Boondocks), Kevin Conroy(Batman, Adventure Time), Jess Harnell (Pixar, Transformers) and Rob Paulsen(Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pinky & The Brain).

Given his history with one of the most iconic female characters, this may seem like a strange question but The Independent‘s Tim Walker asks Is Ridley Scott the most macho man in movies?

MoviesWTF takes a look at the Best Movies of the 80’s. What, no Thrashin’? For shame!

Us movie geeks are always dreaming up scenarios where our favourite heroes and villains cross-over to team-up/battle each other/do dirty things that you read about once in a French magazine. The truth of the matter is though, that most of these meetings will probably just be awkward. Which is precisely what French artist Berk Senturk showed in his funny and charming gallery of illustrations, titled “Oh, hi”.

JoBlo continues their Movie Soundtracks of the Month feature, this time looking at the work of James Horner. This is the man that provided the soundtrack to my wedding (Braveheart OST), so I particularly enjoyed this one.

If you’ve read my review of Men in Black 3 earlier today, you may have noticed my mention of some huge time-travel plot holes in the film’s script. For obvious reasons (you know, because I’m not a douche), I didn’t mention the spoilery specifics in the review. But if you want to know what rankled me so much, then head on over to Movies.com where they ask Are the Plot Holes in Men in Black III More Illogical Than in Most Time Travel Movies?

Warner Bros. continues its game of promotion campaign catch-up as there is now a fourth TV spot out for The Dark Knight Rises.

In celebration of Star Wars’ 35th Anniversary this year, a host of filmmakers, including Jon Favreau, Gary Ross, Damon Lindelof and Eli Roth discuss How George Lucas‘ Classic Influenced Them. Strangely enough, nobody mentioned the insane need to buy flannel shirts. Just me then?

Actor Viggo Mortensen had to be interrogated by airport security officials at Dulles Airport, after he caused a huge ruckus in the terminal. Turns out though that the Lord of the Rings actor was just getting excited, watching a soccer match involving his beloved Argentinian soccer side, San Lorenzo, on his laptop, as reported on the soccer team’s website:

“I screamed Goaaaaaal with all my soul, and started jumping around the place like a frightened deer among the passengers and their suitcases.

“People can’t understand why am I screaming ‘Pipi!’ [a player’s nickname] over and over again, and whether it’s because I’ve pissed myself or maybe I got hurt some way.”

The officials eventually let him go with a warning.

True Blood actor Grant Bowler has been cast as real-life actor Richard Burton opposite Lindsay Lohan in Lifetime’s Elizabeth Taylor biopic, Liz and Dick. I’m sure that title is referring to Richard and not the fact that Mrs Taylor has had so many men in her life.

Just in case you hadn’t quite cottoned onto the idea yet, but Joss Whedon is our leader now:

The Guardian takes a look at their favourite Heists and Getaways in Movie History. Their top pick, Heat, certainly gets my endorsement.

Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli tells Rotten Tomatoes about his Five Favourite Films.

Pajiba lists Cinema’s Greatest Femme Fatales. In all seriousness, I have no idea how Jessica Rabbit is not on that list.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed The Muppets. Wait, actually I can: I enjoyed it a whole @#$!ing lot! Yeah, that’s right, I went with the profanity. And now there’s even more reason for me to love those singing and dancing animals, as one of the best features on the Blu-Ray is a 8.32 minute long blooper reel that is just as hilarious as the film itself.

And you can view it online, in it’s entirety:
