Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!
Pretend to be young and prepare to be ostracised by various cliques, because 21 Jump Street is getting a sequel. That we all knew about already. But aha! It now has a date, as 21 Jump Street: A good day to jump hard will be releasing in 2014…And that’s about all the extra info that we have right now. Damn Sony, you so cheap.
While I wouldn’t expect to see a Justice League live action movie anytime soon, the animated department over at WB is more than content to roll out a blu-ray of new releases starring that gang of capes and tights. One such film on the way is Justice League Flashpoint, which contains enough continuity issues as it is, without me getting into it, but it should hopefully be a decent film overall.
That’ll be out soon, but in the meantime, take a gander at the box art for the movie.
Yes, Aquaman does look like a badass on that cover art. I’m not ashamed to say so.
Guys, we’ve gone a whole day without watching more Iron Man 3 stuff! This must be rectified at once, preferably with a behind the scenes documentary that is minutes in length! But where will I find one of those so late in the day? Why right here, it seems.
Well move aside Ben Affleck and Kristen Stewart, because a certain fresh prince is looking to get in on this whole con artist movie thingamajig. Focus was originally going to star Stewart as a young con artist who learns the ropes of the trade by teaming up with some veteran scammers, which would have included Ben Affleck, but it seems that they’ve decided to drop out of that project and move on to other pastures.
Enter Will Smith, who happens to be in negotiations now to star in that flick. Presumably by having one of his children inhabit the role meant for Stewart as well.
Did you ever wonder what The Wolverine movie would be like if it had been filmed without any money whatsoever? Here’s a trailer then for The Wolverine: Sweded Edition.
I’ve gone several minutes without seeing anything explode and burn in a glorious flame. My lord and master Michael Bay is none too happy about this, so while I sacrifice an Aeromsith CD in time for a beautiful sunset to appear, you can enjoy this TV trailer for his upcoming series, Black Sails.
Now that we’ve Baysploded, Iron Man Threed and Wolverined your collective consciousness, let’s get arty for a moment. The Cannes Film Festival is almost here, and the Movies will be there to gauge some of the finest films on offer. Oh crap, know we won’t the boss says we’ve only got enough cash in our budget to make it to the kitchen across the hallway.
The Movies is going to the kitchen! While we make sammiches, you can enjoy this list of the films that will be representin’ at the 66th Cannes.
Everyone has an idea of what will make a great Star Wars Episode VII movie. Most of those ideas a re bad though, and those people should feel bad as well. Unless you’re Patton Oswalt that is, who recently fillibusted a fantastic idea for the upcoming films, within the TV show Parks and Recreation.
Also, now I finally know what a filibusterer is. Damn, thought that it was a meal idea.
And to end the day off, we’re giving you a full movie to watch. And not just any movie, but the Steve Jobs movie. No, not the one that stars Ashton Kutcher. We’ve got a link here for the Funny or Die iSteve movie, so hit that hyperlink, sit back, and prepare to laugh at Justin Long going mental.
