I think the big takeaway from recent comic book movies, is that having super-powers is an idea that super-rocks. After all, who wouldn’t want to be a Thunder god, have super strength or Hollywood level aim with a bow and arrow?
But with the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, maybe those powers are more of a curse than a blessing. That’s the idea according to director Josh Trank, who in an interview with EW, had the following to say:
Chronicle was all about the discovery and evolution of those powers,” Trank says. “This is like, ‘What if it’s a couple years later and it sucks?’
To be fair, it’d only suck if you couldn’t control the ability to go invisible, set yourself on fire or bend space and time like Mr Fantastic. Yeah, that would suck. But those powers can be controleld. It’s the Thing who has the hardest time obviously, as he happens to resemble the ugly side of a mountain.
Still, with all those powers, expect a slobber-knocker of a fight, presumably in the third act of the flick:
The audience should expect an epic, massive, huge, multipower slugfest,” Trank says. “This movie is big. A lot of stakes.
Fantastic Four has easily had the rockiest (heh) road to production so far. There’s no idea what kind of a film Trank has made exactly. Some say it has a Cronenberg vibe, others say that some studio meddling has resulted in a typical cheesy comic book flick. But that just makes me want to see what the final product is in August.

this cast just looks stupid to me, makes little sense, but then again the original two movies were really crap besides having Jessica Alba in them;)
