Assemble all the houses of Gryffindor, Slitherin and whatever those other two were! And get ready to defend all those muggles who will have none of your excitement, because we have the final trailer of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. In case you’ve been living in the cupboard under the stairs, Fantastic Beasts is the much anticipated prequel to the Harry Potter franchise, which was recently voted in the UK as the most popular book to film adaptation of all time. Now say what you want about the ludicrousness of this result, considering it beat veritable classic like Lord of the Rings and The Shawshank Redemption, but it does help to see how popular the films are and how they defined a generation of cinema-goers.

We’ve been receiving a lot of news already about the upcoming next installment in the hit franchise, which boasts a screenplay penned by Harry Potter creator JK Rowling herself, and so far all the pics and trailers have looked great, without showing too much of what to except. This new trailer though, uncovers a whole lot more about the adventures of Eddie Redmayne’s swashbuckling magizoologist (no, I don’ know what that is either) Newt Scamander and how he plans to shake up the American wizarding world in a time before The Boy Who Lived even came into existence.

Well, that looks quite epic. And I’m not even a Potter fan. Things are going to get crazy as Scamander’s suitcase contains a portal of some sorts to a whole host of wild and fantastical creatures that could  turn 1920 New York into a state of magical war, in what appears is already a sketchy relationship between those with magic and the rest of the muggles (or non-majs as they are referred to in New York). It also appears as if relations between the US and British magicians are a little on edge without needing this additional pending disaster.

I love how they have created a really exciting new world with a host of bright and exciting new creatures and I have no doubt this film is going to rip open the box office and bring Rowling fans into the theatres to embrace the story she has weaved here. It looks like it’s going to take us to even deeper and to more epic places than the previous Potter films and I have no doubt it will be littered with Easter eggs that set up the Potter storyline as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some in the trailer as well. If you excuse me for being a bit of a muggle and I have missed something, please post it in the comments below.

Along with Redmayne, the film will also star Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston and Jon Voight and a host of others. The film is directed by Potter veteran David Yates, who directed the last few films, so expect it to have a similar feel to the others.  Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is set to hit theatres on November 18th.

Right, time to brush up on my quidditch and wand skills before then, so I don’t appear too much like a muggle. Now, where did I put that broom?
