First look at Bond in action in this image and featurette for SPECTRE

Unlike regular writer James, I am all in favour of the current Daniel Craig-led James Bond series getting back a little bit of that superspy spark that it lost when the franchise was rebooted with Casino Royale. Yes, I love the less camp, far more hardcore Bond, and I certainly don’t want to go back to the cartoonish silliness of the late Roger Moore era, but I also don’t want Jason Bourne with an English accent and a thing for Aston Martins.

To me, a Bond movie should always have a bit more pageantry and few other staples: Flashy cars, memorable henchmen, exotic locations, high tech gadgets and a diabolical villain (a bonus if he is in an elaborate lair). And with Skyfall, Bond’s last and by far most successful movie ever, director Sam Mendes started bringing us right back to those things. And the next film, Spectre, looks to be keeping that up.

We’ve already seen some of that pageantry with the movie’s massive reveal which showed us the flashy car, introduced us to the imposing henchman in Dave Bautista and everybody knows that Christoph Waltz can sure as hell play a diabolical villain. And thanks to this new behind-the-scenes featurette we get a look at 007 himself in action in one of those exotic locations, which just so happens to be a Bond classic: The snowy European mountaintop. We also get to hear from some of the cast and crew about what the movie will be bringing to the table.

Seeing as how good Skyfall was, Mendes and co’s plans to top that movie has definitely left me shaken and stirred! And to just add some fuel to those fires, Film Divider is reviving the rumours we heard way before we ever knew anything about Spectre, that this is actually going to be the first installment of a two-part story to be finished up in Bond 25. They’re claiming that most of the principal cast for this movie have actually signed a two-picture deal. What’s more, according to their sources who apparently have some intimate knowledge of the script, this finale of Spectre will “absolutely, definitely leave us waiting for a sequel”. Whether that’s a good thing – “Man, that was so awesome! I want more now!” – or a bad thing – “Gah! Stupid fade-to-black cliffhanger!” is still to be determined.

Spectre also sees the return of Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Rory Kinnear asBill Tanner and Ben Whishaw as Q. With the new additions to the cast being Andrew Scott (Sherlock‘s Moriarty) as Denbigh, the previously mentioned Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as the henchman Mr. Hinx, Lea Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Colour) as Madeline Swan, Monica Belucci (The Matrix Reloaded) as Lucia Sciarra and Christoph Waltz as the villainous Oberhauzer.

Spectre is scheduled for release on November 6, 2015. Here’s the official synopsis:

A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.
