Thus far we’ve already seen Megan Fox’s April O’Neil getting fighting fit in the first set pics, but I know that a toethumb in hot pants isn’t actually what you want to see.

No, you want to see the green skinned, bandana wearing, 6-ft tall Ninja Turtles themselves, right? Well, you’re in lu- Actually, I can’t show you that either, but I do have something that’s kinda sorta close.

New set pics have popped up online (courtesy of SuperHeroHype) showing off three of the four “turtles” – Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo and Noel Fisher as Michelangelo – all dressed up in their pre-CGI motion capture suits engaged in something to do with the Foot Clan. Alan Ritchson’s Raphael, who appears to be taking the lead in the film, was nowhere to be found, so it could be that the Turtles are captured by the Foot Soldiers and he needs to rescue them.

Now as for who might be ordering said capturing, well we may just have an answer, as Deadline is reporting that William Fichtner (Prison Break, The Dark Knight) has joined the cast. There are no specifics about his character, except that he will play an “iconic role” in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mythology. And since all the other major roles have already been filled (besides maybe Krang, who will almost definitely be CGI if he is included), that only leaves one other major character: Shredder.

William Fichtner

The whole not being Asian thing aside, I can definitely see Fichtner as Shredder. He certainly has shown a flair for playing baddies in his career thus far. And well, it’s not as if you’ll be able to see much of his face anyway.

He’ll of course be joining the abovementioned Turtles, Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Danny Woodburn as Splinter and Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick. The film is directed by Jonathan Liebesmann (Battle: LA, Wrath of the Titans) and produced by Michael Bay (Transformers series, Bad Boys, The Rock) so you know that something is going to get blown up real good.

Ninja Turtles well be skating into cinemas on June 6, 2014.
