As you know I’ve been quite excited about the upcoming Valerian, a movie that I really hope manages to capture the awesomeness that was The Fifth Element. Earlier today Craig posted some awesome pictures just ahead of the trailer to whet your appetite and now we are ready! The first teaser trailer JUST landed and we here at TheMovies were waiting for it with arms wide open (stop it Trevor, that wasn’t a Titanic reference).

So without further ado, let’s travel to Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets!

Wow, that looks fantastic! I especially love the use of the Beatles! As usual Basson has the most gorgeous looking visuals, aliens and craft one can imagine!

The big man himself got on twitter for a Q&A while twitter trended madly too!

In fact, he was even nice enough to answer one of our questions!

I am super happy to hear it will be more like the Fifth Element, we haven’t had a film as fun, campy and good looking as that in a long while

I don’t think one of those shots look ‘meh’! Quite a few elements I can pick up on. It’s like Star Wars, Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy, Fifth Element,  and Ender’s Game had a baby. I am super excited now, are you?

I’ll keep you updated with anymore news.

  1. The modern day thing in movies seem to definitely be moving towards using old music. Which works. In this case it seems excellent, but in other cases it seems like a way to try and divert from a bad story and cliché story bits.

    Looks like a fun science-fantasy.

And I don’t care what you say Nick, I’m still king of the world!
