Poor George Clooney. He tried to leave a life of making crime films behind him, but the biz just keeps luring him back! While the Ocean’s Eleven star is already planning another robbery flick in the form of The Monuments Men, he’ll also be putting a plan together for an untitled heist film alongside some other talent.

Teaming up with Argo writer Chris Terrio, producer Grant Heslov and director Paul Greengrass, the idea behind the film would star Clooney as a figure in the background of the New York crime world.

Clooney and co have been working on the story for around a year now, but it might still be a while before it even gets to the greenlight phase. Alongside Monuments Men, Clooney is also eyeing a role in Brad Bird’s 1952, while Terrio himself is in demand for projects such as a remake of French thriller Tell No One.

Meanwhile, Greengrass is currently behind the camera for pirate adventure in Captain Phillips, but seeing the Bourne Supremacy helmer team up with Clooney on a heist flick?

That could be worth the wait.
