Mad Max: Fury Road has easily made it into my top 5 favorite movies for 2015 and I have no doubt it will be in my favorite list for years to come. It was action packed, visually stunning, full of exciting characters, inventive landscapes, big loud vehicles and quite a few memorable scenes – spawning many a DIY of home made flame throwing guitar projects around the world. If you have not seen it yet then you need to make that happen asap!

Australian director George Miller has done a great job making the Mad Max what it is, taking 30 years before adding another chapter to the famous franchise in Fury Road. The wait was certainly worth it and if Miller has shown us anything, its that we should leave the genius be and he will take care of the rest.

If you enjoyed seeing Charlize Theron play the fearsome, strong willed and resourceful Furiosa, then you might be interested to see what George Miller had to say to Digital Spy about her characters reprisal in the sequel.

I’m not sure, is the answer,

She’s not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there’s an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. I can’t really say more than that because it’s still in progress.

OK, so there is still a huge part to play in the Mad Max saga for Furiosa and that’s good. The relationship between the two characters definitely work well – despite Theron stating that she had a difficult time shooting with Tom Hardy.

It will still be some time before we get to see any of this unfold however as Miller has said he wishes to tackle a smaller project before he turns his focus back to the Fury Road follow up – The Wasteland. Which Miller says is still a working title.

Mad-max-Fury-Road-1Miller has also been linked with directing Man Of Steel 2, which is by no means a small project and he has stated that he would not be taking on that project. When asked by IGN about that project Miller had the following to say.

I think it’s been said many times before: he’s potentially a very boring character because he has no faults,” Miller said. “So you really have to find his demons really to get an internal conflict going. You’ve really got to do that. Whether that’s by an external agency or something deep inside himself. You need that conflicted character. That’s what made the Greek gods so great. I mean they were jealous, vengeful, hubristic. They had all these things going for them. I think that’s why Batman’s such an interesting character because he’s human, so he’s just like us. He’s relatable, rather than someone who’s just perfect.

I would love for Miller to take on Man of Steel 2 but whatever he does do next is sure to be great. I for one cannot wait to see Mad Max return to the big screen, in whatever they eventually decide to call the sequel.
