Forget about Orphan Puncher vs Stuporman, because it looks like Warner Bros. is getting ready to place all their eggs in the Suicide Squad basket. And when compared to the dour slugfest of Batman V Superman, that may not be a bad idea. Suicide Squad stars some of the worst metahuman super-criminals in the DC universe, a ragtag band of miscreants coerced into running some black ops for the US government which includes the likes of Deadshot, Killer Croc and Harley Quinn.
It’s that last name that has DC and Warner Bros. excited however, as Margot Robbie’s mad harlequin is getting her own movie.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Robbie will get her own film that will have her reprising her role, but here’s the interesting bit: She’ll be joined by other femme fatales. The report claims that several female heroes and villains from the DC Comics collection will pop up in supporting roles, including Batgirl, the Birds of Prey that usually includes Black Canary and the Huntress and several other names are being thrown around. No writer has been officially revealed yet, but THR says that she is busy working on the script.
The report also says that Robbie is pushing hard for the film to happen, as she has fallen in love with the role of Harley Quinn after researching the role for Suicide Squad, bringing on the writer to help her pitch it to Warner Bros. who have “snapped it up”. And I’m down with that. Robbie looks like she’ll be stealing the show in Suicide Squad as the Joker’s number one lady, a chaotic force of nature in tights who is always has a smile on her face.
And considering how Harley Quinn comics have been rather excellent lately, there’s plenty of great material to draw from. Gotham City Sirens, anyone?

They could do a Harley and Ivy type movie. Poison Ivy deserves another shot on the big screen.
