Hawkeye will appear in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Despite having an arrow aimed at a depowered Thor and having set Loki up for a Hulk ragdolling of note, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye has been absent from the current phase of Marvel movies. Sure, he’ll no doubt have a major role in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, but that’s about it for his phase 2 appearances. Phase 3 however, is another story entirely.

The archer with a ridiculous aim will be turning up in the third Captain America movie, Civil War, according to THR. How big his role is, has yet to be revealed, but he’ll be joining a movie that is already jam-packed with several other heroes. Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and probably even Spider-Man are all in it, but his role could be perhaps one of the more significant casting choices here.

With Cap and Iron Man having a battle of ideologies over the role of superhumans in the world around them, it’s going to be up to the other heroes to start choosing sides. With Hawkeye as a commited military man, that’s going to be an especially hard choice to make between Cap’s old school ideals and Iron Man’s modern way of thinking. That, and I’d dig to see a Hawkeye vs Cap/Iron Man match. Either one is fine.

  1. This sounds like a kinda semi sequel to Age of Ultron (which I gather is what it ultimately is, given that it follows the fallout of Age of Ultron).

That’s bloody awesome, nevermind maybe getting Spidey in a proper Marvel movie at long last

It’s a guy, with a bow and arrow, in a world full of super heroes. Enough said.
