I’m not going to try and trick you guys here, so I’ll be upfront about this: What you’re about to see is a teaser in every sense of the word. At just 16 seconds long, this first official teaser trailer for Marvel’s Daredevil offers very little. However, seeing as this is 16 seconds more footage than we had seen up until yesterday, I’m calling this progress.

A full trailer should be dropping some time later this afternoon (probably on US time, so expect it close to early evening actually), but until such time this is our first in-motion glimpse at the first of Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series, so you’re damn straight we’re going to check this one out.

“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

The series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.

Right off the bat, I’m liking the way Charlie Cox sounds as Daredevil. The only other role I really know Cox from is Boardwalk Empire, where he employs a rather pronounced Irish brogue to his speech. Here he sounds a bit more throaty – not quite a Christian Bale Batman growl though.

And as we’ve seen in the previous pics, this early version of the Man Without Fear is based on the designs used in Frank Miller’s legendary 1980’s run on the character, when he was at the very beginning of his vigilante career and had not yet acquired his iconic red horned suit yet. You can probably expect him to don the crimson duds at some point in time in the series, but until then you’re going to have to get used to Matt Murdock doing his best Dread Pirate Roberts impersonation.

The entire first season of Marvel’s Daredevil, comprised of 13 one-hour long episodes, will premiere on all Netflix regions on April 10, 2015 at 12:01 a.m. Be sure to check back later today for the full version of the trailer.

      Okay never mind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Zelinsky

Would be cool if he walked into that guy’s shop at some point in the series to ask for his suit!

I wonder if he knows it is red? Didn’t someone perhaps play a practical joke on him and tell him it is black or camo?
