Admittedly, that headline is a little click-bait-y, because Absolutely Anything has nothing to with Monty Python, but rather is an upcoming sci-fi comedy starring Simon Pegg that does feature a number of Monty Python alum working together again for the first time in years. Also the spirit of Monty Python definitely seems to be strong here as this alien filled romp seems to let loose with, well, absolutely anything.

The film is directed by Python vet Terry Jones who revealed the first bit of plot info to Empire:

“It’s about a man called Neil, a teacher in a sink secondary school, who gets given magic powers by aliens.”

Pegg will be taking on the role of Neil, while the aliens are set to be voiced by Jones’ old Python pals John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin. Also, the late Robin Williams will be the voice of Neil’s dog Dennies. I did say it was very Python-esque, didn’t I?

Jones went on to explain the situation our hero finds himself in after getting these powers, which is frankly not very heroic at all.

“He can make anything happen, [but] he doesn’t realise it until his colleague says, ‘What would you do if you could do anything?’ and Neil responds with, ‘I’d make an alien spaceship hit class 4C and vaporise them.’ Then there’s an explosion in the school, and they run to 4C’s classroom, open the door and there’s a vast hole in the ground.”

Er… Oops?

The movie also stars Kate Beckinsale – just as herself, not the voice of some non-human – and she can be seen in the first images from the film which also shows weird looking people with big ears, Neil scolding Dennis and Neil seemingly having just done something explosive to what I hope is either a really big cigar or a funny shaped sausage. Yes, definitely Python-esque.

Absolutely Anything is scheduled for release in the UK on February 13, 2015, before opening most everywhere else in the middle of the year.
