Human Centipede 3 is on the way, humanity weeps

Ok, before you read any further, put your food and drinks away. Maybe keep a bucket nearby, and cover your monitor with some plastic, because a third Human Centipede film is on the way an- Dammit, not on me, in the bucket!

Having threatened humanity for quite a while now, director Tom Six has finally gone through with his promises, as the madcap creator has revealed some of the cast for his latest film.

Dieter “Dr Joseph Heiter” Laser and Laurence “Hammertime Martin” Harvey will be returning for Final Sequence, which will see the two veterans reappear in some form, presumably creating a new human centipede on an epic scale.

For those of you unfamiliar with the previous two, notorious films, The Human Centipede told the tale of an insane doctor and a lunatic, who attempted to make a human creature resembling the infamous worm, albeit by joining the mouths and digestive tracks of their victims to each others anuses.

The original film performed this experiment on three unfortunate abductees, while the sequel, Full Sequence, upped the ante by kidnapping and joining an unfortunate dozen victims together.

Full Sequence was refused classification by the BBFC in the UK, until dozens of cuts were made to it, earning the sequel a certain level of notoriety that helped fuel its popularity.

Talking to Empire, director Six called the criticism of his film “crazy”, and that everyone was missing out on the black humour of his project, while also confirming that he was going for broke in Final Sequence, as he is planning on making Full Sequence look like a “Disney Film” in comparison.

In the end the three films can be actually attached to each other, like the centipede: one big film of four and a half hours. That’s my goal. Each film is very different from the previous one. 2 is totally different to 1, and 3 will be totally different from both the others. I’m not telling you how. You have to find out. In space? I won’t say!”

Whether the next Human Centipede continues the meta themes of the original or not is unclear right now, but you can bet that’s its going to be a film with clean-up crews on 24/7 watch for any theatre that shows it, as Six plans to start shooting later this year, aiming for a May 2013 release.

The centipede is a arthropod (like a crab), not a worm :p

Well, shock films will live on. Obviously this series works for someone somewhere. Nobody I know – all the gorehounds and shocklovers I listen to have turned this away even with the first film.

And crappy film making aside, what was messed up to me, is the director exclaiming that people just didn’t understand the “dark humour” of his film.

Dark humour? Seriously? Somebody please break out the fancy white jacket and tidy up the padded room, we’re expecting a visitor.

I wouldn’t know. I haven’t watched any of the series. The trailers were enough.
