The future of TV isn’t going to be in watching talent shows that are two years old or endless repeats of everything on DSTV. It’s going to be all digital, baby! Take Netflix for instance. We’ve gushed over them plenty of times in the past, due to their decision to greenlight shows that most networks don’t want to touch, throw talent and cash at the idea and release all the episodes at once for viewers to watch when they want to.

One such show that proved the strength of that model? A US adaptation of the cult classic UK show, House of Cards. And it’s coming back for a second season.

Frank’s rapid ascension to the heights of power means big changes for both him and Claire, but his sudden rise creates powerful enemies and the increasing chance that his dark secrets will be exposed.

There is but one rule: Hunt or be hunted.

If you’re unfamiliar with the show, it stars Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood, who finds all his hard work in helping his party get elected into the Oval office for naught, when his promised promotion to secretary of state gets thrown out of the window. Naturally pissed off, Underwood decides to internally screw up his own party and seize power for himself. Thanks to the efforts of Underwood and his wife, he actually succeeds, and season 2 finds him now in the position of vice president.

House of Cards stars Spacey once again in the lead role, joined by Robin Wright, Kate Mara, Michael Gill, Gerald McRaney, Michael Kelly, Mahershala Ali, Sebastian Arcelus, Kristen Connolly, Sam Page and Molly Parker. It’ll be releasing on Valentines Day February 14 this year. Because nothing says romance like political backstabbing.
