I have noticed people, by lending the books, that people who are not into fantasy books, seems to like the Witcher books. Geralt is just badass, there is no way you can not like him.
Read the books. They good. And a good way to prepare yourself for The Witcher 3 video game, while you wait for the game to be released.

I’ve read all the Witcher books (even the badly translated ones). Loved them all.
But Game of Thrones isn’t my favourite thing ever, and time is an issue always.

And just to add. When I ordered through Takealot.com I noticed they ordered more than one copy of the book to keep in stock.
From the 4 top online retailers, when I browse, I notice the Witchers books are in stock and then out of stock and then in stock again. So people in South Africa are buying these Witcher books.

Interestingly, no one really carried their swords on their backs in medieval times, (as it was too difficult to sheath or unsheath in an emergency). It was mostly popularized by movies and books.
