It was a hot day, the kind of day where soft drink sales spike and your local corner cafe blames inflation for an overnight increase of a soda by 600%. But something was wrong. I could feel it in my my gut, right next to the three day old chilli that I had had for breakfast. Two weeks on the force had told me to trust that instinct, as I took a corner and opened fire on a maniac brandishing a knife while dressed in a toga. Turns out my gut was wrong. I’d shot dead a bad actor during a performance of Shakespeare in the park.
