Tony Stark has some big plans, in this IRON MAN 3 spoiler

The great thing about the Iron Man films, is that Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark character is infinitely more interesting than his armoured counterpart. Just think about this for starters. Batman, Superman and Spider-Man all keep secret identities, while Stark says ‘screw that’ and flat out admits that he’s the man in the suit.

But does the suit make the man? It just might, in this new major spoiler for Iron Man 3.

The always reliable Latino Review posted the current bit of news regarding a major moment in the film, and seeing as how they’ve been accurate on several other announcements so far, salt-pinching may not be required.

We’ve already seen the new Magnum Caramel Strawberry paint job version of the Mark 8 armour that Tony will adopt in Iron Man 3, but it looks like he may some more tricks up his titanium sleeve, according to this spoiler.

GIVE ME A SPOILER, I’M STARVING.

I’M SORRY, THIS IS THE FUN-VEE, THE SPOILER-HUM-DRUM-VEE IS BACK THERE.

THIS IS MY EIFFEL TOWER. THIS IS MY RACHMANINOFF’S THIRD. MY PIETA. IT’S COMPLETELY ELEGANT, IT’S BAFFLINGLY BEAUTIFUL, AND IT’S CAPABLE OF REDUCING THE POPULATION OF ANY STANDING STRUCTURE TO ZERO. I CALL IT THE “SPOILER”.

According to the Latino review, expect more than one or two new suits in this film. A lot more. About to take on a small army of villains who have been enhanced by the techno-organic Extremis virus, Tony decides to think ahead and think big.

We’ve already seen seven Iron Man suits throughout the two films and The Avengers, but at this point, Tony reveals that he’s already up to the 47th incarnation of his armour, which he uses most likely in the finale to control the rest of his armoury and bring the fight to Ben Kingsleys Mandarin with an army of his own.

The Extremis-enhanced bad guys under direction of Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin villain are going to be too much for Tony to handle on his own, so he thinks ahead, thinks big and has a plan. Tony’s about to go out and fight some bad guys when he mentions the Mark XLVII to Pepper Potts. Pepper asks what happened to the other forty and Tony just smiles.

From the cockpit of Mark XLVII Tony is able to control multiple armors in battle. We over here at LR have been vaguely aware of an action scene where Tony was going to control multiple Iron Man suits (presumably they look similar to distract his enemies as to the location of kill-able Iron Man Prime), but the number 40 seems…awesome. 40 Iron Men.

Sounds pretty epic to me. Tony Stark’s greatest weapon has always been his genius intellect and unconventional thinking, and seeing as how his head is already big enough thanks to his massive ego, it should be interesting to see how the billionaire playboy philanthropist pilots an entire 50 shades of Iron Man armour.

My only issue is with continuity. When in Avengers 2 they face Thanos, or whoever, if this rumour is true he will have to either do the same thing and use all 40 sets of armor against the bad guys, or have a good reason why he can’t…perhaps being off-world?

He suffers a major blow to the head when a lucky shot hits the Iron Man Prime but due to the rigorous armour platting the rocket is launched back at it’s source and the villian is held down by the other iron men while the rocket takes aim at it’s final destination and destroyes him in a massive explosion that engulfs and both the iron men (bar the prime) roll credits … end movie bonus snippet Tony wakes up in a hospital and doesn’t remember who he is … dun dun duhh……

I wonder if Tony will be Extrem-ising himself as in the comic. Would certainly fit in with this supposed rumour.
