We only received news yesterday of Itagaki leaving and suing Tecmo and already he has been linked with a big money move to Microsoft.
It makes sense really as he has created some great games for the Redmond giant, who are desperately looking to make a go of it in the Japanese market.
So Dead or Alive 5 may be dead in the water but I see no reason why he can’t make something similar, especially with the amount of money that Microsoft are able to throw at him…

Dead Or Alive – well now we know which it is, huh:)? Yeah, I think Itagaki is overrated. Beyond Ninja Gaiden, particularly black, I’m of the opinion that he hasn’t achieved a thing, really. He’s good…not great.

Oh I love Dead or Alive…. easily my favourite fighting game… and yes I know it’s not realistic or as artistically great as other games but I don’t care.. it’s fun

The thing about Itagaki’s games is that they are unrelentingly for the hardcore male market, and he makes no excuses for it. I give the man his due.
I think he could do some really interesting stuff 😉

Itagaki has some cool ideas but he’s still of the “game designer is a rock star” school of thought. He claims full credit for all creative decisions on “his” games.
But if he moves to MGS he’s going to have to learn to work in a team and get used to being told “Mr Itagaki, that idea sux, mine is better”

hahaha i can see one of two things happening.
1) Peter killed by Itagaki
2) Ninja Fables continuously delayed and breaks the record currently held by Duke Nukem Forever.
