Yes, 62 images. Needless to say, this post will be about as friendly to internet bandwidth as Telkom. If you can spare the megabits per second though, you’ll get yourself enough super high-res images so that if you added them to all the other images already released for Baz Lurhmann’s sumptuous looking adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel, The Great Gatsby, managed to sort out their chronological order and then flicked through them really fast, you could essentially watch the whole movie.

“The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

That’s a whole lot of images! But, wait! There’s more!!!

No, I’m not throwing in this limited edition Darryn voodoo doll (squirm, little monkey boy!), but what I can give you is nearly 5 minutes worth of footage from the film, courtesy of 7 clips (handily spliced together into one video by Collider) released by Warner Bros today.

The final 13.5 seconds of The Great Gatsby that you haven’t yet seen will be opening in cinemas on May 10, 2013.
