I’m calling it right now: Playground games are the next big thing. Away with those silly board games! Do not pass go and proceed straight to jail! While I’ve got an idea for a ripper of a movie based on Two for flinching, it looks like I’m not the only person with similar ideas.
Enter Jack Black and Will Ferrell, as they’re about to play the longest game of tag….ever.
Based on a real-life game of tag that lasted over a month, two classmates from the state of Washington spent weeks outrunning one another in a monumental effort to not be Pennywise it. And they did all this, while still engaging in a regular job and social life while stuck with this obsession.
Right now, Black and Ferrell are attached as the two leads who take the game way too far, but it’s also going to depend on the quality of the final script from Mark “Wieners” Steilen, in order to cement a commitment. It’s an absolutely crazy idea, and frankly, casting Black and Ferrell is genius. While the two have never starred as pals in a full length movie together, only briefly appearing alongside one another here and there, there’s still some crazy chemistry evident between the two.
