CZ12 1

Old legends never die, judging by the amount of films that action stars such as Jean Claude Van Damme, Sly Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger are still cranking out these days. One superstar from the past that we haven’t seen on the big screen for quite a while though?

Jackie Chan. The impossible to insure martial arts maestro has been keeping quiet for the last couple of years. But he’s back! And he’s still looking for the armour of god.

Asian Hawk (Jackie Chan) leads a mercenary team to recover several lost artifacts from the Old Summer Palace, the bronze heads of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals which were looted by foreigners in the 1800s. Assisted by a Chinese student and a Parisian lady, Hawk stops at nothing to accomplish the mission.

Man, that looks like a ton of fun actually. Chan still has what it takes to throw down, even though he’s obviously sneaking in some body doubles to help him out, and a cast that will most likely fill the kick to ass quota for him as well. Still, CZ12 is the kind of film that will benefit from having Chan take a more behind the scenes role. There’s some fantastic action set pieces hinted at there, and only Chan could make a rollerblading suit a deadly weapon in hand to wheel combat.

The film is out October 18 across the world. No local release date yet has been confirmed for it though.

It’s not a bad film and better than several of Chan’s newer movies. But he clearly is getting a bit old to do this and CZ12 doesn’t have the same kick as Armor of God or Operation Condor. But it’s still fun.

Jackie Chan has given so much over the years and I have yet seen one of his movies I did not like. The action and story line works togethers and the places these movies are filmed just add to each movie. Also how many of you know that Jackie Chan can sing..
