X-Men films are pretty much the types of movies that have high stakes for the cast of characters present. But in the upcoming First Class sequel, Days of Future Past, those stakes have never been higher. In fact, so much is on the line, that two generations of X-Men teams will be engaging in a fight to save reality.

Sounds pretty epic? Professor X himself, James McAvoy thinks so as well.

“There’s an army of brilliant actors in that film,” McAvoy said in an interview with IGN. “Bryan Singer is back at the helm. Potentially it’s going to be the biggest, most epic X-Men they’ve ever had. I think it’s the second biggest production Fox have ever embarked upon, behind Avatar. So they’re definitely going for it.”

And there’ll be plenty of X-Genes to throw around in this flick. X-Men past and present will be battling it out to save mutantkind and humanity from certain doom. Doom that will require both Xaviers to cross paths, according to McAvoy who spoke highly of working with Patrick Stewart. “His last day was my first day and that was it”.

Then we were done. But we did crossover and we do get a scene together. Getting to work with Hugh [Jackman] – who I christened Hugo Boss – was great….Getting to work with Michael [Fassbender] again was great. I spent a hell of a lot of time with Nick [Nicholas Hoult]. Weirdly the people that I spent the most time with acting-wise was not Michael this time, it was Hugh and Nick. And whilst I bemoaned the loss of my buddy Michael, it was more than made up for by the fact that Hugh and Nick are such amazing people.

X-Men Days of Future Past will be quantum tunneling into cinemas next year May.

  1. I’m slowly getting more & more excited for this movie.

Please don’t only release it in 3D like Wolverine or Pacific Rim. I would actually like to go watch it on the big screen.
