Growing up, I loved the Jackass movies. But then, well, they all vanished due to the cast getting more banged up than a Peruvian drug smuggler. Make no mistake, they’re still funny, but in a weird way that makes you question why you ever wanted to be like these guys. Still, there was one recurring gag in the films that is still funny, and that’s Johnny Knoxville being a bad grandpa.
Knoxville often joked about making that a full movie on its own. Looks like he was being dead serious the whole time about it. And dammit, it has me chuckling.
86 year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companions, his 8 year-old Grandson Billy in “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.” This October, the signature Jackass character Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and Billy (Jackson Nicoll) will take movie audiences along for the most insane hidden camera road trip ever captured on camera.
Along the way Irving will introduce the young and impressionable Billy to people, places and situations that give new meaning to the term childrearing. The duo will encounter male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants (and their equally disgruntled mothers), funeral home mourners, biker bar patrons and a whole lot of unsuspecting citizens.
It’s Johnny Knoxville, in old person make-up getting into shenanigans all across America. There’s not much more to it than that really. And while Knoxville has the persona of Irving Zissman down flat, it’s young Jackson Nicoll who is really going to steal the show here as his suffering grandson. And I kinda dig it. I still have a soft spot for the Jackass films, and Bad Grandpa is the closest we’ll get to a new one that doesn’t involve trips to the hospital.
Bad Grandpa hits cinemas in October.

The thing is that most of these kiddie beauty pageant are a joke and a excuse for pedophiles to perv on little girls. And what the parents put these kids through is child abuse in my opinion. They could never enter any beauty pageants and now they force the kids into them and force them to be grown up way before there age!
