Most times, when you watch Japanese animated films, you’re going to want to stick to the original language dub and get your exposition off of the subtitles. There are a few exceptions to this rule, such as the Dragon Ball films which have Japanese voices so high-pitched and annoying that they cause all dogs with a 10 kilometer radius to bark uncontrollably.

And when it comes to films made by Studio Ghibli, the cast of actors tapped for those movies actually tend to be on the damn good side. The Wind Rises looks like it won’t be breaking that trend anytime soon.

The final film from renowned director Hayao Miyazaki, The Wind Rises charts the development of Jiro Horikoshi, who helped design a signature Japanese fighter plane. Joseph Gordon Levitt will voice that main character, and will be joined by Emily “Looper” Blunt, John Krasinski, Martin Short, Stanley Tucci, Mandy Patinkin, William H. Macy, Werner Herzog , Mae Whitman, Jennifer Grey, Darren Criss, Elijah Wood and Ronan Farrow. That’s a star studed cast, something which Disney films dream of having on their projects.

The English dub arrives in February next year, and marks the end of an era at Studio Ghibli when Miyazaki retires from the studio that he helped create.
