Remember how I was raving about Jujutsu Kaisen not too long ago? Apparently I’m not the only one that makes like a chef and pinches my fingers to describe its excellence, as the hot new action show just scooped the top prize the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. To the surprise of probably nobody, Jujutsu Kaisen took home the top prize and several more over the weekend.

In addition to Best Anime, the show also won Best Antagonist (Ryomen Sukuna) and Best Ending Sequence for Lost In Paradise by ALI and featuring AKLO, As for the rest of the night? A pretty diverse list of winners actually! Keep Your Hands Off Eizoken, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Re:Zero – Starting Life In Another World, and My Hero Academia all earned prizes in various categories, ranging from animation to fight scene choreography. Crunchyroll will soon be merging with Funimation, as Sony is currently banking heavily on anime being a core part of its business strategy in the months and years to come. Is that a good thing? Yes dammit, because it means that the next anime award for Best Girl will go to our lord and savior, Hana Uzaki. I shan’t hear any objections to this.
