We’ve been hearing loads of rumours but surprisingly little concrete regarding the sequel to the much loved and controversial 2010 film Kick-Ass, aptly named Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.

After two years of nail-biting us film geeks could thankfully relax when it was stated that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher “McLovin” Mintz-Plasse will definitely be making a return in the sequel, as discussed by Darryn on Tuesday, but now even more casting news has come to light.

It seems like Lindy Booth is up for the role of Night-Bitch, which will definitely leave most of us guys weak in the knees and reaching for our wallets next year. Inspired by Kick-Ass and driven by the murder of her sister, we can safely assume that Night-Bitch will live up to her name on not take criminals lightly.

The film will revolve around Kick-Ass joining a team of superheroes called Justice Forever. Somewhere, a lawyer for DC Comics just received a phone call. The team will find themselves up against a crime syndicate out for vengeance, as per the Hollywood Reporter.

Comic book films seem to be getting all the attention these days and since some studios have now caught on to how successful a franchise can be when done correctly, I think we are set for a few fantastic movies in the next few years, hopefully, Kick-Ass 2 included. So far, I am quite optimistic.

Mark Millar has been vocal regarding a few things we can expect in the sequel, and mentions what might be one of the “most brutal and epic battles in cinema” – a fight between Hit-Girl and and the terrifyingly muscled Mother Russia. Another scene mentioned is Hit-Girl fighting bad guys on the roof of a moving van.

This all comes as quite a pleasant surprise as I was unsure as to how large a part crowd-pleaser Hit-Girl would feature in the sequel, so my excitement level for this films has definitely been kicked into high gear.

If you don’t hear from me again, I’m off somewhere else trying to make a living writing Night-Bitch fan fiction. Don’t judge me!

Okay, you can judge me a little.

  1. Kick-ass blew me away, so I’m definitely interest to see what Night-bitch has up her sleeve. Wait that sounds decidedly perverse. BLAME DARRYN!
