Remember your first time in Rapture? Descending into the deep blue sea to discover a vast utopia of individualism run amok as genetically-scrambled freaks gave various other globals isms a double dose of middle fingers was magical man. And a tad bit taxing on the ol’ PC back then. Team green or Team red, whatever you were running back in 2007 probably barely scratched the surface of Rapture’s splendor.
In the years and sequels that followed however, Bioshock became a little bit more forgiving. Those first two titles are getting a little bit of love once again later this week with Bioshock: The Collection, a package that drops some lovely visuals on all three games and the DLC that they came with. Well, unless you’re on PC that is, as you’ll only be getting Bioshock 1 and 2 in a prettier form. 2K Games is pretty much adamant that Bioshock: Infinite already lives up to current-gen expectations on that platform.
Anyway! Those first two games won’t run without the necessary hardware. Hardware which has conveniently been listed below via Steam:

Not too bad then. Remember if you happen to own either of the original Bioshock games on Steam, you’ll be getting the updated version for free says 2K Games. If your copy happens to have a Games for Windows logo on it, things are a little bit trickier. You’ll need to submit a ticket to 2K’s support team along with a scan of the original receipt or any other way of proving that you did indeed purchase the game. That’s for the original Bioshock game, while getting the upgrade for the GFWL version of Bioshock 2 is oddly simpler.
Just enter your GFWL key into steam, and you’ll get it added to that massive backlog of games that you’ve been promising to finish for how many years already.

Also no chance that a thermal printed receipt (like 99% of receipt) keep 10 years it will just be a blank slip of paper

Also – on this note – I bought an NVidia Geforce GTS 8800 ( the original ones … G80 I think ) for the original Bioshock.
In fact – that was the turning point in my life where I decided to always buy the best graphics card that I can afford – as it makes a world of difference :O
