Listen to the directors commentary for LOOPER, before the film is even out (locally)!

I’m looking forward to Looper. Time travel, Bruce Willis and Cobra Commander in one flick, sounds like a damn good idea to me. What isn’t a good idea though, is having to wait around three extra months to see it.

Still, it’ll give us time to build up some more anticipation, and also a little extra time to download some commentary for the film, courtesy of none other than the director himself, Rian Johnson.

It’s a track for serious fans, containing all sorts of technical tidbits and inside knowledge, as Johnson explained on the Looper Tumblr;

I recorded a commentary track to be downloaded, put on an ipod and listened to in the theater as you’re watching Looper.  This is an odd thing I tried with Bloom, and have gotten a few requests for it again, so here it is.  It is totally different from the commentary track that will be on the Blu/DVD, a bit more technical and detailed.  Needless to say, this is NOT to be listened to on a first viewing, or before you’ve seen the film.  Also, please work it so that a glowing screening is never out of your pocket during the movie.

Listen to the introduction before heading to the theater, it has instructions.  And lemme know how it works.

Is Looper a film worth watching twice? Who knows, but critics seem to dig it so far. But if you are going to go check it out a second time, grab the whole clip here, or burn through your 3G with a stream of it instead.

And of course, not that it needs to be mentioned with several hilarious lines that tie into it, but spoilers!
