Luke Evans shall be…THE CROW!

Step aside Professor X and Loki, because when it comes to portraying undead anti-heroes that are commonly mistaken for birthday clowns, it looks like there is only one man that is right for that particular gig! Relativity Media and director F. Javier Gutierrez have been looking to get their reboot of the cult classic film off the ground for a while now, linking a few big names to the re-imagining of the James O’Barr created comic.

And with Luke Evans now confirmed as the resurrected man with vengeance on his mind, production just took another step forward.

Evans is no stranger to the action movie genre. He’s had a turn in the pantheon portraying the Greek gods in Clash of the Titans and Immortals, engaged in some fancy swordplay in Paul W Anderson’s Three Musketeers and will next be seen on the screen bad-guying it up in The Fast and the Furious 6. In fact, he’s the original choice of lead actor that Gutierrez wanted, but couldn’t get at the time due to scheduling conflicts.

So what’s a director to do? Why, move the schedule down a  few months of course!  Which means that production will only begin in early 2014. Lets see if this remake can live up to the standard set by the late Brandon Lee in 1994.

I was disappointed that John Cusack in The Raven wasn’t a prequel to The Crow.

Okay, I approve of this. He has the melancholy look that The crow needs.
