MAD MAX: FURY ROAD heads back to the wasteland for reshoots

I completely forgot about Mad Max: Fury Road lately. The film has been busy toiling away in the wastelands of Namibia and the Namib desert and putting that $100 million budget to good use I presume. By now, principal photography should have been completed long ago, as December 2012 was the last time we heard anything from those film sets.

But it looks like the road warrior is headed back for a couple of reshoots.

According to If.com.au, reshoots will be hitting Sydney, Australia later in November and will run for around three weeks. Some of the main cast will return, with talent agents looking for extras that have “odd, idiosyncratic faces”. Hey Kervyn, wanna make a quick buck?

Sounds like the film is doing some extra exposition then, instead of dramatically overhauling the story. So in this case, I’m not expecting a repeat of G.I. Joe: Retaliation. That, and the fact that Warner Bros has yet to even slap a release date on the movie, makes me think that the parties involved are keen to take their sweet time making this flick. I’m still looking forward to the film.

George Miller, the man who started the franchise is once again at the helm, and he’s bringing a massive cast with him that includes Tom Hardy as Max. Deep breath now: The rest of the cast so far also includes: Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Courtney Eaton, Josh Helman, Jennifer Hagan, iOTA, John Howard, Richard Carter, Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.
