Love is an upcoming Netflix original comedy series from Judd Atapow (Girls), Lesley Arfin (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Paul Rust (Arrested Development); the latter will also star opposite Gillian Jacobs (Community). Netflix has just released two character trailers that introduce us to our protagonists in life, love and everything in between – Gus (Rust) and Mickey (Jacobs).

The official show synopsis is as follows:

Created, written and executive produced by Judd Apatow, Paul Rust and Lesley Arfin, Love follows nice guy Gus (Rust) and brazen wild-child Mickey (Gillian Jacobs) as they navigate the exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, love and other things they were hoping to avoid.

Love is an unflinching, hilarious and excruciatingly honest take on modern relationships. Brent Forrester [The Office] and Dean Holland [Parks and Recreation] also serve as executive producers of Love.

I’m honestly not feeling the love – if anything those 30-second-long trailers make their characters look too much like every other quirky rom-com/sit-com character we’ve seen over recent years. However there’s some serious comedic talent behind the show and maybe there’s more to it than meets the eye, it definitely can’t hurt to take a look. Netflix has confidence in the show as a 12-episode second season has already been green lit by the streaming giant.

Love’s 10-episode-long season one will air on Netflix on 19 February.
