I still can’t believe that a Suicide Squad movie is being made. Hell, just the title alone is edgier than my idea for a movie which I call Orphan-Puncher (Is it about an Orphan who punches, or an individual who punches orphans? You decide!). And with David “Fury” Ayers behind the camera, I’ve got some realistically high hopes for this flick.
It’s a film which could be DC’s answer to Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, especially if they want to make darker and grittier films. But to get that right, they’re going to need a solid crew of actors. And Ayers is going with some real star power for his assembly of the government-sponsored Task Force X, as he posted a cast photo on Twitter:

In the photo are Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Jim Parrack, Adam Beach and Ike Barinholtz. El Mayimbe reckons that Ike Barinholtz is playing Hugo Strange, Beach is possibly Ravan and Jim Parrack (in the hat) will be Deathstroke.
At this point, you may be asking where Jared Leto is. I’m guessing behind the camera, as Ayers and DC will most likely reserve his official unveil as the new Joker for another time. Not that his new look hasn’t been teased enough as of late.
New film rumours also indicate that it’ll be set between the events of Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawdle of Douglas. That’s a good idea if the rumour is true, as it’ll help set up the relationship between Ben Affleck’s Batman and the Joker.
The film is out next year on August 5. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing some more costumes and in-character photos soon.
