This week we saw Community, one of the best shows on TV and a personal favourite of mine for years, being snatched from the very brink of cancellation death as Yahoo picked the show up for a sixth season after NBC had given it the chop earlier in the year. So here’s today’s question: Which cancelled TV show do you wish had been given the Dr. Frankenstein treatment and brought back to life for one last season.
Don’t you all shout out “FIREFLY!!!!” at once now.

Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles. I’d give my left nut, can move the middle one across.

The interaction between Karl Urban & Michael Ealy was great, otherwise it wasn’t really that good – very dull, formulaic stories. That said, there were a couple of interesting world-building hints dropped that reminded me a lot of Judge Dredd & could have been interesting to explore.

I’d have to agree. I loved the concept and the characters, but the show’s early insistence on not telling its much more interesting overarching story really sunk it for me.

Besides Firefly of course? hmm lets see… There were a few series that had one or two seasons that showed real promise, like Jericho and FlashForward. Then there are series that were just fantastic but had a few flaws like Heroes. Had those kinks been worked out it would have been awesome.

Not so sure about Heroes. The very fact that it got another season after the first is what killed that show. They had a good premise that they mostly resolved in that opening season, but then had to just keeping sucking their thumbs to try and make it last. They could maybe have gotten away with a second season to wrap up all the loose ends, but anything after that was a bad idea.

I feel it had so much potential though… (which is probably why its being launched again). I kinda feel the time travel was difficult to handle, the writers strike never helped, too many different characters all trying to stay relevant and having the scientist character trying to make superheroes was what killed it…

FIREFLY!!!!
Oh, wait, that was too obvious? Fine… in that case… Carnivàle and Pushing Daisies are both musts. Would’ve liked some more episodes of Father of the Pride too, but… I’m probably one of 3 people that would, or even bothered to watch it.

I will shout it because it deserved better. I’d trade almost anything currently on tv for Firefly. Love all the nods in Castle towards the show.
Blue Mountain State and Life jump to mind as well.
