Right now, the box office is in a bit of slump. And that’s because even with a late Labour Day weekend, movies aren’t exactly selling out. Take the debut of The Transporter: Refueled, which came in fifth place with an opening North American haul of just over $7 million.

That’s way behind the previous flicks in the series, with the critically derided Transporter 3 having opened up to over $12 million in 2008. Overall, it was not the best weekend on track. Here’s a look at how everyone else did in the US of A:

  • War Room – $9.3 Million
  • Straight Outta Compton – $8.8 Million
  • A Walk In The Woods – $8.4 Million
  • Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation – $7.15 Million
  • The Transporter: Refueled – $7.13 Million
  • No Escape – $5.4 Million
  • The Man From UNCLE – $3.44 Million
  • Un Gallo Con Muchos Huevos – $3.4 Million
  • Sinister 2 – $3.3 Million
  • Inside Out – $3.1 Million

Top ten US departures this week include Ant-Man and Hitman: Agent 47. Marvel’s smallest hero made some big cash at the box office, earning a worldwide total of over $369.6 million so far off of a budget of $130 million.

Meanwhile, Hitman: Agent 47 is pretty much a solid flick that’ll at least make back it’s production and advertising budget, sitting on a worldwide heap of cash that totals over $62.9 million. Sawy what you want, but that’s not bad for a movie made on a $35 million budget.
